yay cake

I'm going to make a fluffy yellow layer cake from scratch today! Got turned on to the idea after flipping through the Cooking for Two 2009 issue of America's Test Kitchen. If it turns out, I may have to do a repeat in a week or so for some birthday celebrations. Also, really want to bake a pie soon. But what kind!?
